The Valkyries and Dream are facing off in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals at State Farm Arena, but there's a concern about having enough time for the WNBA champions to celebrate on the court before the arena is prepared for the NBA game.
Final: Texas State 20, Utah State 17.
I'm left scratching my head as I try to process the fact that the Valkyries and Dream are playing Game 5 of the WNBA Finals at State Farm Arena, which is also hosting an NBA game later that night. It's not just about the game - it's about where they'll play.
The Hawks have accommodated the Dream by moving their own game to a late time on Thursday, but it still might not be enough time for a WNBA championship celebration at State Farm Arena before the NBA game starts.
The Valkyries or Dream will likely need to celebrate in an alternate location if they win Game 6, which is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. At State Farm Arena - that's just hours before the Hawks take on the Cavaliers at a late time.
WNBA Finals Location Chaos
The WNBA Finals have been a whirlwind of excitement and drama, with the Valkyries and Dream battling it out for the championship. The series is tied at two games apiece, making each matchup crucial in determining the winner. But behind the scenes, there's been a logistical nightmare unfolding - finding a suitable location to host Game 6.
The Hawks have accommodated the Dream by moving their own game to a late time on Thursday, but it seems that might not be enough time for the WNBA champions to celebrate on the court before the NBA game starts. The Valkyries or Dream explored other options, including Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion and Gas South Arena in Duluth, but neither worked out.
The Valkyries and Dream are no strangers to adversity, having overcome numerous challenges throughout their season. But this latest twist has left fans wondering if the WNBA champions will have to celebrate in an alternate location - a practice court, no less.
